The content of our school curriculum meets the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum and, in addition, is bespoke to the needs of our pupils. Our provision is organised using the principles of the Chris Quigley Essentials curriculum which organises the primary years into Milestones. Milestone 1 is Key Stage 1, Milestone 2 is Years 3 and 4, and Milestone 3 is Years 5 and 6. Within these Milestones, we aim for our pupils to progress from apprentice to qualified to an expert level of knowledge and understanding in each subject area.
We have thought carefully about the strengths that our context offers and ensured that we actively seek opportunities to experience and appreciate each subject area in its own right. We achieve this through Curriculum Days each term which are funded by FOYS (Friends of Yattendon School). Recent examples have ranged from a French Day, Sculpture Day, STOMP day to a Food Art Day. We are looking forward to a Cultural Diversity day in May.
