Thursday

Good morning Kingfishers,

Welcome to another thrilling Thursday of learning!

Firstly, thank you to those who sent in a joke to cheer me up! Here are some to start your day with a giggle! If you haven't sent one in yet and would like to, please add one when you email your learning today.

"Doctor, Doctor, I've eaten a goat. I'm not kidding!"

- From Will

Why did the horse cross the road?

To meet his neighbours!

- From Leo

Why did the teacher have to wear sunglasses?

Because her class were so bright!

- From Ethan W (I shall have to wear a huge pair of sunglasses as you all are so brightenlightened!)

Also, thank you to those who thought about our JIGSAW focus for the week of staying motivated even when doing something challenging.

Here are Florence's thoughts: "When I saw my writing challenge on Tuesday, I felt unsure. Thinking of a story with a menacing opening is not something I feel confident with. But I played to my strengths which was thinking of good vocabulary and focusing on the details. I managed to make the story my own. The reward was being proud of my work and reading my story to the rest of my family.
Another example is when Mummy and I attempted to build up to running 5km. I motivated myself by breaking it down into bitesize pieces so it was manageable. I also focused on the end result (how good I'd feel to finish) rather than the immediate tiredness."

Give yourself an imaginary JIGSAW sticker and a big round of applause if you achieved our focus this week!

I can't wait to see your fantastic learning - let's get started.

Some people are having problems viewing the spelling video sent via email. If you download the video, instead of pressing play, you should be able to watch it.

Also, if you are viewing the PSHE powerpoint on a tablet, the hyperlink may not work. Here is the web link for Mel's story:
